South West Healthcare is a leading Victorian regional hospital, providing surgical, medical, obstetric, rehabilitation, emergency, psychiatric, allied health and community health services to the south-west region of Victoria.

With a strong commitment to continuous quality improvement, inpatient facilities in Warrnambool and Camperdown are complemented by community health facilities in Camperdown, Lismore, Macarthur and Warrnambool, with community-based psychiatric services available in Camperdown, Hamilton, Portland and Warrnambool.

South West Healthcare is the sub-regional referral centre for the south-west, enhancing local health care by providing a number of medical and surgical specialities, reducing the need for patients to travel to metropolitan hospitals.

The region’s $1.5 million MRI machine arrives

Decades of rural disadvantage have ended with Healthcare Imaging Services delivering to South West Healthcare the region’s first Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine.

The $1.5 million piece of lifesaving equipment is Europe’s top-of-the-line model when it comes to examination scope and image quality and has recently been installed at a number of other cutting edge Australian public and private imaging practices.
