South West Healthcare is a leading Victorian regional hospital, providing surgical, medical, obstetric, rehabilitation, emergency, psychiatric, allied health and community health services to the south-west region of Victoria.

With a strong commitment to continuous quality improvement, inpatient facilities in Warrnambool and Camperdown are complemented by community health facilities in Camperdown, Lismore, Macarthur and Warrnambool, with community-based psychiatric services available in Camperdown, Hamilton, Portland and Warrnambool.

South West Healthcare is the sub-regional referral centre for the south-west, enhancing local health care by providing a number of medical and surgical specialities, reducing the need for patients to travel to metropolitan hospitals.

SWH wins silver at national awards

South West Healthcare’s 2007 Annual Report has won a silver medal at the Australasian Reporting Awards.

The organisation took out the best practice accolade, presented in front of 500 guests at a black tie event at the Sydney Hilton, for having met rigorous reporting standards.

Chemo Unit the first to own new-design I.V. poles

South West Healthcare’s Chemotherapy Unit has taken possession of a new-design I.V. pole.

Used to hold the pumps that administer the chemotherapy, this pole’s extra special because it comes with a handle that lets patients, during the course of their day’s treatment, move around a little easier if they, for example, want to stretch their legs or go to the toilet.
