PDH moves forward on Helipad Plans

Portland District Health (PDH) will move forward on public safety and transport management plans for the proposed helipad at the The Ploughed Field.

It follows a meeting between the PDH Board of management and Glenelg Shire Chief Executive Officer Sharon Kelsey late last week.

The meeting discussed draft licence conditions for the helipad.

PDH Board President Mike Noske described the meeting as “very good” between the two parties.

The Glenelg Shire Council resolved a deadlock last week that threatened to derail the establishment of the helipad by allowing the Blue Ribbon Foundation, which has been raising funds for the helipad, to dedicate the helipad site to fallen members of the Victoria Police.
