Category: Human Resources A few months ago SC&MC requested that the State Services Authority ensure the development and provision of accessible advice to officers in the Victorian Public Service and the Victorian Public Sector on the proposed changes by the Commonwealth to Superannuation policy. The intent was to assist officers in their career planning by ensuring that they had the latest available information on superannuation. The State Services Authority contracted Daryl Dixon of Dixon Advisory Services to prepare the material. The work prepared by Daryl Dixon has been reviewed by DTF, VicSuper, ESSS/GSO and by Dr David Knox of Mercer who is the State actuary for the Victorian Defined Benefit Schemes. Mr Dixon formally review all comments and I enclose the final product. The final product also provides advice on the current rules of the Victorian schemes which many Members may not have been familiar with. The Secretary DPC has requested that I forward this information to you for distribution on your intranet. Mercer also provided a table to assist members in the REVISED SCHEME to calculate their the likely pension based on the percentage of superable salary (FAS) upon retirement and years of service.
