WelcomeTimboon & District Healthcare Service provides services within the southern half of the Corangamite Shire and the south eastern section of the Moyne Shire. Key towns within our catchment area include Timboon, Cobden, Simpson, Nullawarre, Port Campbell, Princetown and Peterborough. This area comprises a catchment population of about 8,000. Timboon & District Healthcare Service is an integrated health service which provides acute, residential and community aged care and primary care services. Our catchment area extends from Cobden in the north to the Great Ocean Road coastline, which encompasses the tourist icon of the Twevle Apostles. The area provides diverse employment through a range of primary industries, with dairying being predominant, tourism along the coast, commercial and community services.Our News Timboon and District Healthcare well prepared for upcoming bushfire season.Friday, 27 August 2010As part of the healthcare facility Emergency Responses Plan, we are conscious of the risk of bushfire in the area. The Timboon and District Healthcare Service Clinical Services Committee has developed a Bush Fire Plan. This will allow us to provide a high level of organisation and thus effectively use the resources we have and protect all patients, clients, visitors and staff as needed. On Thursday 26th August the Timboon and District Healthcare Service held a mock emergency response including an evacuation due to an imminent bushfire. This helped to iron out any possible concerns in the newly developed Bushfire Plan. About 70% of staff participated in the exercise which was deemed extremely valuable. Another exercise will occur before we launch into the heat of summer. During the summer danger period the facility will be able to function as normal.
