PDH Helps Local People Enjoy A Brighter Christmas

Tuesday, 3 December 2013
Portland District Health is bringing Christmas cheer to the community this year.

For the first time the hospital is hosting a K-mart wishing tree and is encouraging staff and the community to donate gifts for locals in need.

The wishing tree has been organised by PDH human resources business trainee Emily Hayes.

I've always noticed wishing trees in other areas and always contributed when I could, she said.

I thought it would be a nice contribution for PDH to register for a tree to make Christmas brighter for those who need it.

The tree has been set up at the main hospital reception area.

Members of the public and PDH staff are being encouraged to donate gifts which will be distributed by the Salvation Army.

To participate in the appeal simply take a gift tag from the tree and specify the age and gender of a suitable recipient, and place it with your wrapped or unwrapped gift under the wishing tree. Gifts can be purchased from any retailer or be handmade.

It is a great cause and can help make this Christmas a joyous one for everyone, she said.
