Portland District Health wants you to tell us if an employee or volunteer has made a difference to their experience at PDH. Has someone gone above and beyond their duties as a nurse, or have you had exceptional assistance from someone in administration?

If so, we want to know about it.

PDH has introduced recognition awards for employees and/or volunteers who demonstrate exceptional effort and commitment in areas such as person-centred care, assistance to others including patients, visitors and staff, team work, and behaviours that demonstrate Portland District Health values, and/or system-wide improvements.

To nominate someone it is as easy as filling out an online form on the PDH website, or completing a recognition postcard available throughout PDH, or it can be as informal as a call or even a hand written letter to our human resource department.

You can nominate and help us recognise employees, volunteers or teams.

PDH hopes this new program will recognise and retain committed performers, enhance staff and volunteer engagement, build effective and rewarding work relationships and reinforce positive behaviours at work.

Nominations will be reported by the human resources department to the executive meeting, before displaying in the main hospital entry and on the PDH website an exhibit of our high achievers. CEO Chris Giles will also write to the employee or volunteer to congratulate them.

People wishing to nominate a PDH staff member can go to: http://swarh.com.au/pdh.

Local residents are also invited to inspect the latest PDH annual report and quality of care report. The reports are available from the administration area of PDH or can be viewed online.
