The annual Portland District Health charity golf day will raise money for a good cause and raise a few laughs along the way in 2015.

Comedy act The Nelson Twins – or the `bearded burblers' as they are known - will be guests on the golf course and at a special dinner on Friday March 20.

This year's golf event will raise money for PDH's planned new women’s and children's health precinct.

But golfers and dinner guests will be in stitches along the way thanks to one of Australia's most unique comedy stand-up shows.

Their television credits include Australia's Got Talent, The Footy Show, NBC's Last Comic Standing, 2010 Australian IQ Test, Before The Game, The Project and a host of TV commercials.

As well as being talented actors and comedians, the boys have put their writing skills to good use and formulated a curriculum,-based program for secondary schools.

PDH CEO Chris Giles said the golf day was for a good cause and promised to be good fun.

The Nelson Twins promise a performance not to be missed, and the golf itself will again be a challenging and fun way for local people to support their health service, Ms Giles said.

Our planned new women's and children's health precinct will bring together an area that woman and children including babies can feel at home and comfortable in whilst having access to comprehensive health care services.

Ms Giles thanked community supporters and sponsors for getting behind the event.

This is another example of the Portland community rallying to support a worthy cause.

There will again be a $100,000 hole-in-one reward, to be shared by PDH and the successful golfer. It will be a 13-hole Ambrose competition and one member of each team must have a golf handicap.

The event will also feature a charity auction and music by Christo Rook.

Places in the game are now available at $30. The dinner will feature tables of 10 at $55 per person, but individual booking can be taken. People wanting to play golf and go to dinner can receive discounted tickets at $75.

Bookings can be made with Executive Assistant, Cindy Huppatz on 5521 0305 or Community Engagement Officer, Carolyn Malseed 5522 1182.
