FAREWELL TO HELEN PINI
MANAGER OF CLINICAL CARE
Helen Pini, Manager of our Clinical Care Division,
is retiring from Otway Health after five years in the
role. We farewell her and thank her for her
diligence and commitment.
What does the Clinical Care Manager’s role involve?
As a Multi Purpose Service, Otway Health provides a
range of flexible aged, community and health services
designed to best people’s needs. When care is no
longer appropriate or effective in the home, or an
emergency occurs, clinical care can be provided to
meet particular needs, including:
- Acute Care (severe short term conditions
requiring hospitalisation)
- Emergency Care
- Respite Care
- Nurse Clinic
As well, Otway Health offers fulltime Residential Aged
Care to 22 people, home delivered meals to around 15
people every day, a Needle Exchange Program, and
Aged Care Residential Accommodation in the

In Brief
Otway Health and Community Services is one of the first three Multipurpose Services established in Victoria. We commenced operation on 1 January 1995 and provide community health, hospital, aged accommodation, child care centre, adult education, neighbourhood house, rental units for older people (Seamist Villas), palliative care, community (district) nursing, allied health and home based community care services to people residing in our catchment area.
The area covered by Otway Health and Community Services is on the coastal side of the Otway Ranges including the townships of Lavers Hill, Beech Forest and Horden Vale, and extending along the coast from Apollo Bay to Wye River. Home and Community Care Services, including home care, property maintenance and delivered meals extend even further to cover the southern part of the Colac Otway Shire.
