 High Tea with Misu
Otway Health & Community Services are excited to advise that from May onwards we will be commencing a new planned activity group for a few specially selected OHCS clients who are passionate dog lovers.
Our group, “High Tea with Misu”, will be hosted by Misu, our pet therapy dog, and her handler Jocelyn. Once per fortnight, we will be serving afternoon tea from fine china with homemade treats for all to enjoy, whilst Misu works her magic on our attendees.
Misu is well known to the residents at OHCS and brings a smile to many faces every Tuesday when she visits. It is now time for us to spread that joy to some of our clients who may no longer be able to care for a dog of their own. This enables them to enjoy the experience of spending time with a very special dog and joining us to share their tales of life as a dedicated dog lover whilst socialising with like-minded attendees over a cup of tea and a treat.

In Brief
Otway Health and Community Services is one of the first three Multipurpose Services established in Victoria. We commenced operation on 1 January 1995 and provide community health, hospital, aged accommodation, child care centre, adult education, neighbourhood house, rental units for older people (Seamist Villas), palliative care, community (district) nursing, allied health and home based community care services to people residing in our catchment area.
The area covered by Otway Health and Community Services is on the coastal side of the Otway Ranges including the townships of Lavers Hill, Beech Forest and Horden Vale, and extending along the coast from Apollo Bay to Wye River. Home and Community Care Services, including home care, property maintenance and delivered meals extend even further to cover the southern part of the Colac Otway Shire.
