New Director to lead Clinical Services in Lorne

Tuesday, September 09, 2008


Susan Morrissey will commence on 7th October in the position of Director of Clinical Services (previously called Director of Nursing) at Lorne Community Hospital. The Hospital CEO Janelle Bryce said "this is an important appointment as Susan will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the health services, recruiting and retaining nursing staff, and ensuring strong clinical leadership is in place to meet quality standards for all areas of the service."

The Lorne Community Hospital is a public health service that provides urgent and acute care, aged care and respite, community health programs, district nursing and renal dialysis services. The service plays a key role in meeting the health needs of the local communities as well as the demand from visitors to area, which peaks during the summer.

The Mission of the Lorne Community Hospital is to provide high quality care through the provision of a range of viable and integrated Health, Aged and Community Care.

  • To provide a high quality of care for patients through the maintenance of ethical and professional standards in a safe and secure environment.

  • To provide the most cost effective model of health service delivery within the resources available.
