The Australian Kelpie Muster by Emily Dowler

Held over the June long weekend The Australian Kelpie Muster has taken on a new form of community spirit. Held annually by the Casterton Kelpie Association, the Casterton Memorial Hospital this year has worked very closely with the Casterton Kelpie Association to bring forth an added element and health message throughout the muster.

As the Event Coordinator for the Australian Kelpie Muster and Community Development Officer for CMH, attaching a link between the two proved a very successful endeavor. As chance would have it, generosity was the call of the weekend as Tasmanian vendor, Jackie Merchant put a young Kelpie up for auction at the Sunday Working-Dog Auction, and generously donating proceeds directly to Beyondblue: the depression initiative. This proved a pivotal point and avenue for Mental Health Promotion throughout the event.
