Welcome to the BSWRICS website

Welcome to the Barwon South Western Regional Integrated Cancer Service (BSWRICS) Website. We are pleased to be able to establish this important information and communication tool for our RICS through the South West Alliance of Rural Health.

We welcome your feedback

We aim to provide an informative ‘user friendly’ web presence and welcome your feedback on the layout and content of this site via our web-form.

What is BSWRICS?

Our program was established as a part of the Victorian Government’s Cancer Reforms in January 2005 and our team has grown over the past year to work on a number of regional cancer service improvement projects to enhance care co-ordination, multidisciplinary cancer care and psychosocial and supportive care for cancer patients.

There are five regional integrated cancer services now established in Victoria and three metropolitan integrated cancer services. Further information about the Victorian government cancer reforms is available here.

BSWRICS is also involved in strategic planning for cancer services in our region and in 2005 developed a regional Cancer Services Plan, which we will continue to develop and update over time.

To govern the work of our RICS, a number of governance groups have been established and information about these groups is detailed on this website.

What is the aim of this website?

The aim of this website is to provide you with specific information about BSWRICS including our governance, education, information, project work and data about cancer in our region.
